Software Update - 3rd January 2025

On Friday 3rd January 2025 we updated AML HQ with a number of enhancements.  If you have any new features that you would like considered for 2025, please contact one of our team directly or send an email to support@amlhq.com.

A summary of the key enhancements included in this release are as follows:

  1. Section 40 Support: This new functionality will allow you to efficiently establish third-party reliance on KYC/CDD.  This may be of interest to you if you work closely with other relevant third parties (e.g. other accountants / solicitors).
  2. The removal of fees for inactive clients.
  3. The introduction of external client questionnaires.
  4. The ability to display your Logo on external AML HQ screens.

Keep reading for further information on the above enhancements.

Section 40 Support

Under section 40(3) of the Criminal Justice (Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing) Act 2010 (as amended), a practice can rely on certain relevant third parties to complete Customer Due Diligence (“CDD”) measures.  Within this release we have developed an efficient way to establish an agreement with another relevant third party and to receive and maintain the appropriate risk assessment information.

Get in touch with one of our team if you work closely with other relevant third parties such as financial institutions, auditors, accountants or legal professionals and want to learn if Section 40 is applicable and will save you time.

The Removal of Fees for Inactive Clients

It is a legal requirement for you to retain your AML records for up to 5 years after the client relationship has ended.  When a client is no longer an active client, you can mark them as Inactive within your AML HQ account.  We have updated our pricing model so that you are no longer charged for inactive clients and clients marked as inactive will no longer be included in your maximum client count.

Support for External Client Questionnaires

We have developed functionality so that you can now send any questionnaire or risk assessment to a client for completion. Our plan is to further develop this functionality in 2025 and create a standard client take-on or onboarding questionnaire that would allow you to request new (or existing) clients to complete a digital questionnaire.  As we mature this feature, the intention is that the Client's answers can then be embedded within the Client Risk Assessment.  This will provide a professional and efficient mechanism to capture client self-declarations around topics such as source of wealth/funds.

Custom Logo's on External AML HQ Screens

You now have the ability to personalise your external AML HQ screens by adding your corporate logo.  You can now add your logo within your Account Settings and this will be presented to your clients when you send an Identity Verification Request for completion.
