Steps to AML Compliance
Steps to AML Compliance
There are a number of steps that the MLRO needs to complete in order to establish the AML framework for your practice. They are described here: MLRO Checklist
In parallel to completing the MLRO actions, you can start updating your AML Client files:
- You can immediately start adding new clients to your AML HQ account by using the "Add New Client" button on your Client dashboard.
- We can efficiently upload your existing clients to your account. To avail of this free service please:
- Populate and return a Corporate Client Bulk-upload CSV file [View video tutorial]
- Populate and return a Sole Trader / Individual Client Bulk-upload CSV file [View video tutorial]
- When we process your bulk upload you can update your Client Files with missing information (see note A below)
(A) Updating AML Client Files
After we bulk import your existing clients there are a number of steps that you need to complete:
- Complete a Client Risk Assessment
- For corporates, confirm that you have identified all of the directors and beneficial owners (with an RBO extract file to demonstrate that you have met your obligations to check the RBO register)
- For corporates, confirm that you have verified the identity of all of the PSCs/beneficial owners (ID and Proof of address) and at least one director
- Where appropriate add source of funds/wealth information (in the risk assessment) and add evidence of such for complex or higher risk clients
We will cover the above in your AML HQ training session. The following video also covers the required actions: Updating Existing Client Files
